URBN Sherwood Park

our first space…

We started seeing coworking spaces pop up all over the world, everywhere we traveled we came across a new space for entrepreneurs & small businesses.

We found the concept remarkable and thought let’s bring this to Edmonton and area.

We were fully aware that not many people understood what coworking was, but we jumped in anyways.

Our first space was in Sherwood Park, a suburb of Edmonton. We wanted to be different from the typical space in the sense of not being in the downtown core.

By doing this, we were able to provide free parking onsite, and 24/7 access for those people who do not need to travel to the downtown core. We then transformed the office space and people came.

It grew for two years and our members flourished in the space.

In December 2019 our landlords informed us that they were going to sell the building. We then needed to make a decision neither of us was particularly ready for.

The decision to close down our first coworking space was a hard one.

We are thankful that the majority of our Sherwood Park members were able to join us at our URBN South Edmonton location.

Although the workspace may look different, the vibe and community support remain the same.

We have learned the importance of community among entrepreneurs and look forward to fostering that community at our South Edmonton location.

We may no longer have space there now, but we’re always ready to welcome new members from Sherwood Park.
